THIS IS MY STORY
and i'm stickin' to it.

I was born in Chicago to a prominent architect and airline stewardess/fine artist. You could say a perfect combo for the 1970's American dream couple, but for me, it's been a constant struggle between precise geometric patterns and impatient brush strokes.

We moved to Leucadia, California when I was eight, and quickly discovered backyard mini-ramps and the term "life's a beach." Not to mention punk-rock, surfing, hip-hop, and anything else that would fill my hunger for inspiration in this new setting.

Eventually outgrowing the small town scene, I headed toward Los Angeles to study art+design and live in a more urban setting. I took a job for a couple years at a startup company called "Paul Frank industries" designing t-shirts while I finished getting my fine art degree.

After graduating, I moved back south and improved my web knowledge by working for a series of Interactive web companies like MonsterSkate, Surfline, and Swell.com. It was great to learn web design in such detail, and practiced by building sites on the side for Zero Skateboards, Woodshed Films, Innes Clothing, Grant Brittain, and many others. However, after the DOT-BOMB events of the new millenium, web companies began turning to catalog production and I had to search something else out.

I found a solid home the next four years at Nixon Premium Accessories, where I designed catalogs, photographed premium products, illustrated event posters and softgoods, programmed websites, art directed a small team, and headed up many other projects. After a good run, I was completely burnt out on "branding" and needed to figure out what i wanted to do with my life.

For the past two years, I have taken a step sideways to figure out who I am as an artist. This was a path never explored since graduating art school because like most people, the "job" had always come first.

Now my days are spent building ideas out of paint, wood, and film for local artshows, commissions, and events. I still spend the majority of time on freelance web + print design, photography, and illustration for clients like Surfing Magazine, Patagonia, Tony Hawk Foundation, Lisa Lozano Swimsuits, and Thomas Campbell.

I built this site with the intention of letting people know who I am and what I'm involved with . It isn't really a blog or portfolio, but a bit of both and then some. I try to update weekly with new events and artwork, so be sure to come back to see the latest.

Don't hesitate to shoot over an email if you are interested in any artwork you see, want something commissioned, or hire me for design work.

Thanks for visiting.
