My mom, Neva, was an oil painter and clay/bronze sculptor. I always remember having an art table setup in the house she would sit me at, and let me go nuts with paint, markers, and crayons. On the nights i was really excited to paint, she let me eat dinner at that table until i accidently drank paint water instead of the milk.
My father, Pete, is an architect who has designed hospitals all over the world, not to mention buildings and houses in Chicago. He can draw the straightest line i've ever seen, and dabbles with art once in a while. I secretly keep his doodles, because they are better than 90% of anything i've ever done. Don't get me started on his immaculate handwriting.
Cheers to you, Mom and Dad, together you are the biggest source of inspiration in my life. |
